Fees & Billing

Countryside Medical Centre is a privately billing practice.

Bulk billing may be available in limited circumstances and is offered at the discretion of the treating doctor.

Medicare rebate amounts are determined by the Federal Government and do not reflect the true cost of modern general practice care. Patients who wish to advocate for changes to rebate levels are encouraged to contact their local Member of Parliament.

Procedure Fees

Some procedures or tests performed by your doctor may attract an additional fee, separate from the consultation fee, to cover the cost of medical supplies. You will be advised of any additional charges when applicable. Some services provided by the practice do not attract a Medicare rebate. Fees for these services will be discussed with you at the time of booking or during your appointment.
Example Procedure Fees

DVA Patients

If you hold a Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) Gold Card, standard consultations are covered by DVA. Some longer or additional services may incur a private fee, which will be discussed with you at the time of your appointment.

Children

In most cases, children under 16 years of age are covered by Medicare for standard consultations. Longer or additional services may attract a private fee, which will be explained to you before your appointment.

WorkCover & TAC

Consultations related to work-related injuries (WorkCover) or motor vehicle accidents (TAC) are not covered by Medicare. The cost for these consultations is the responsibility of the patient at the time of the appointment. Once your claim has been approved, you may seek reimbursement directly from WorkCover or TAC.
